Local Network Storage
Simple Definition: A shared storage folder on your internal network that is accessible by all users inside or outside of the office.
Pro’s: Hand’s down, if speed and performance are important to you, this is your choice! There is not a single online storage site that can meet or beat local network storage.
Con’s: You must have ample storage space to meet your needs and the proper back up procedures in place.
Cost: Varied based on the storage device you select; and ongoing as you should contract a network engineer to assist in configuration, back up, and “health” monitoring of your device.
Online Storage
Simple Definition: Data stored over the internet.
Pro’s: Inherently shared and accessible remotely. 24/7 professional monitoring. Automatic back ups. Progressive functionality such as the emailing of folder links to outside parties such as vendors, client, selling agents that enable these individuals to upload photos and documents directly to a property with no consideration of file size.
Con’s: There is no online data storage provider that can match the speed and performance to local network storage – even with today’s most contemporary solutions, it is not technologically possible. This, as you are moving files through your internet connection. You can manage this with automatic photo resizing.
Cost: Maestro has partnered with GroupDrive to offer you a secure and revolutionary online storage solution with progressive functionality. There is a one-time, per account, activation fee of $100 (NOT per user, per Maestro account). In addition, you will pay $1/gig of space you use each month.
REO Maestro Benefits
Ø Regardless of what solution you select, you may “map” your choice in Maestro. This means you never have to toggle outside of Maestro to access your documents and photos. Each location will be accessed from inside each property. It is so seamless, you will forget that the actual storage is outside of Maestro.
